Bright, fresh and youthful, this wine showcases the beautiful character achieved through aging in concrete.

  • Wine: Hedwighof Appellation: Burgenland Variety: Gruner Veltliner Vintage: 2018 Vine Age: 7-48 yrs Elevation: 120m Soil: Humus, Gravel Yield: 7t/ha Vinification: Steel Aging: Steel Alcohol: 13% Description: Just a couple of hundred meters away from Austria’s lowest point of altitude, on the banks of Lake Neusiedl, the Hedwighof vineyard’s high proportion of old vines, gravelly subsoil, and position atop an ancient seabed leads to bright and complex fruit flavors and lovely salinity. Zweigelt, a cross between St. Laurent and Blaufrankisch is Austria's most plant red grape and yields wines that are bright, fruity and a little tart.

The result of 3 generations of Piemontese winemaking expertise.

St. Laurent hails from the Pinot family and is often described as a deeper colored, beefier version of Pinot Noir. This wine was fermented in stainless steel to retain varietal freshness and then aged in large (2000L) oak casks at a constant natural temperature of 14° C / 57° F.
